Navajo farmers were still struggling to access water for their crops this week. The Navajo Nation was hit hard when the Animas River closed two weeks ago after toxic wastewater was released from an abandoned mine in Colorado. The PBS Newshour covered the spill  from the Navajo Nation.

The Washington Post reported recently that restaurants in major cities across the country are having a hard time finding qualified cooks. Albuquerque Business First reported on the situation in New Mexico.

Also this week, New Mexico’s Green Chile Cheeseburger Trail received national attention. The trail was named best food trail in the country in a USA Today poll.

If you love green chile cheeseburgers, the New Mexico State Fair has a burger competition this year and Edible Santa Fe will hold a green chile cheeseburger smackdown on September 10 at the Railyards in Santa Fe.
